Este estudo centra-se na investigação de isoglossas motivacionais no território português no âmbito do estudo da variação geolinguística lexical. A partir de uma seleção de mapas motivacionais dos atlas linguísticos supranacionais Atlas linguistique roman (ALiR) e Atlas Linguarum Europae (ALE), identificam-se áreas de homogeneidade motivacional no território português continental, relacionáveis com padrões de geodiferenciação lexical em português europeu. Conclui-se que no plano da variação geolinguística lexical e do seu papel na caracterização dos dialetos do português europeu continental são também de considerar os novos contributos trazidos pela cartografia motivacional desenvolvida no âmbito do ALE e do ALiR. This study focuses on the identification of motivational isoglosses in the Portuguese territory, within the study of geolinguistic lexical variation. Starting from a small selection of motivational maps from supranational linguistic atlases Atlas linguistique roman (ALiR) and Atlas Linguarum Europae (ALE), areas with homogeneous motivation were outlined, and then compared to well-known lexical patterns of geographical differentiation in European Portuguese. The authors conclude that it is really important to consider the new contributions brought by the motivational cartography developed by the ALE and ALiR projects to the study of geolinguistic lexical variation and its role in Portuguese dialectology.
