La Raya, que separa, y al mismo tiempo une, España y Portugal, nos descubre muchos e interesantes topónimos. Recorriéndola, desde la desembocadura del río Miño hasta la del Guadiana, analizamos varios de ellos, comenzando por los de los ríos y corrientes que constituyen la misma frontera (la “Raya fluvial”) y siguiendo, en sentido inverso, por los de las poblaciones que la jalonan. Palabras clave: toponimia, Raya, frontera, España, Portugal.

The “Raya”, that separates, and at the same time unites, Spain and Portugal, reveals many interesting toponyms. Going through it, from the mouth of the Minho river to that of the Guadiana, we analyze several of them, beginning with those of the rivers and streams that constitute the border itself (the “Raya fluvial”) and following, in the reverse direction, by those of the towns that surround it. Keywords: toponymy, Raya, border, Spain, Portugal.
