En este artículo se analiza Fregenal de la Sierra en el siglo XVIII a partir del Catastro de Ensenada de 1751, con el objetivo de obtener las características propias de la localidad a través de las respuestas generales. Para conocer su alcance analizaremos las siguientes cuestiones: su estructura general, el contenido de las preguntas y su utilidad para el estudio de la historia de Fregenal de la Sierra. El fin último del artículo es valorar el tipo de información que proporcionan los documentos, para valorar su uso como fuente de investigación y conocer la situación de Fregenal de la Sierra en la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII. This article analyzes the Sierra Fregenal in the eighteenth century from Ensenada Cadastre 1751, with the aim of obtaining the characteristics of the locality through the general answers. For your fingertips discuss the following issues: general structure, the content of the questions, and their usefulness for the study of the history of the Sierra Fregenal. No presente trabalho é analisada a evolução do coeficiente de consanguinidade aparente da freguesia de Rio de Onor, ao longo de 120 anos. Os valores aquele coeficiente são os mais altos encontrados na população portuguesa, até ao momento. É também colocada em destaque a contribuição dos casamentos de 4º grau para o referido coeficiente.

In the present study the evolution of the coefficient of apparent consanguinity in the parish of Rio de Onor is analysed for a period of 120 years. The values of that coefficient are the highest founded till the moment in the portuguese population. The contribution of fourth degree marriages for such coefficient is also remarqued.

Desde a infância que, ao contemplarmos a impressionante paisagem de Freixo de Espada à Cinta, os seus monumentos, usos e costumes, uma voz íntima nos segredava a necessidade de se proceder à recolha destes últimos, antes que a leva do modermismo tudo fizesse desaparecer. Os anos foram passando, mas essa ideia continuava a dominar-nos o espírito e, então, prometemos a nós mesmos coligir todo ese manancial, através de obserevações continuas pelos aglomerados que formam o concelho de Freixo de Espada à Cinta. A redacção do presente trabalho só se tornou possível, após várias digressões, por todo o concelho e depois de consutas oenosas por livros, códices, tombos, documentos que nos foi dado manusear. Nestre trabalho reúnem-se subsídios de carácter histórico, geográfico, arqueológico, etnográfico y antropológico para, em suma, se fazer uma síntese sobre a antropologia cultural do concelho de Freixo de Espada à Cinta.

The chemical composition and nutritional value of three Lamiaceae often used as spices in Portuguese traditional cuisine: Ground ivy (Glechoma hederaceae L.), oregano (Origanum vulgare subsp. virens (Hoffmanns. & Link) Ietswaart) and mastic thyme (Thymus mastichina L.) were determined. Chemical composition evaluation included moisture, total fat content, crude protein, ash, carbohydrates, and nutritional value determination. The macronutrient profile revealed that these spices are rich sources of carbohydrates and that an edible portion of 100 g assures, on average, 161 Kcal. The composition in individual sugars was determined by high performance liquid chromatography coupled to a refraction index detector (HPLC/RID), being this methodology completely validated. All the compounds were separated in a period of time of 15 min; the method used proved to be sensitive, reproducible and accurate. Fructose, glucose, sucrose and raffinose were the most abundant sugars. The analysis of fatty acid composition, performed by gas chromatography coupled to a flame ionization detector (GC/FID), allowed the quantification of twenty two fatty acids. Polyunsaturated fatty acids and, in particular, α-linolenic and linoleic acids, were predominant.
