O presente trabalho tem por objetivo aprofundar a análise dos discursos sobre a língua mirandesa. Esta prática parece-nos essencial, nomeadamente, quando se lida com uma língua e uma cultura que têm sido vítimas do preconceito e marginalizadas pelo poder ao longo da história, com uma língua que se refugiou na oralidade e à qual não se lhe conhece produção escrita literária até 1884. Iniciaremos o inventário de referências à língua e à cultura da Terra de Miranda com o primeiro testemunho documentado sobre a língua mirandesa que remonta ao século XVII que se prolongará até os nossos dias. Abordaremos também a importância da minoria mirandófona no contexto da lusofonia. Palavras-chave: Mirandês, sociolinguística, lusofonia, diglossia, variação linguística, bilinguismo.

This paper aims to deepen the analysis of discourses on Mirandese language. This practice seems essential, especially when regarding a language and a culture that have been victims of prejudice and marginalized by authorities throughout history, with a language which has been refuged in orality and from which is not known written literary production until 1884. The reference’s inventory to the language and culture of the Land of Miranda begins with the first documented testimony about the Mirandese language dating back to the seventeenth century which lasts until today. It will also be discussed the importance of Mirandese speaking minority in the “lusofonia” context. Keywords: Mirandese, sociolinguistics, lusofonia, diglossia, language variation, bilingualism.
