El presente trabajo tiene como propósito exponer una hipótesis sobre el contenido y funcionamiento del régimen económico matrimonial en un Fuero denominado del Baylío, que afecta a una parte de la región de Extremadura. Para ello, se parte de sus oscuros orígenes, ámbito geográfico y vigencia reconocida para, finalmente, ofrecer una hipótesis viable sobre su contenido y efectos en relación con el régimen económico en el matrimonio, tanto desde la perspectiva de su constitución como constante matrimonio y en el momento de su disolución.

This article contains a thesis on the content and functioning of the matrimonial property regime in a Fuero (compilation of local law) called Fuero del Baylío, which applies in part of the Extremadura region (Spain). It begins with an explanation of the Fuero's remote original sources, sphere of geographic application and current enforcement. The article then offers a plausible thesis on the content and effects of the Fuero del Baylío regarding its matrimonial property regime from the outset, during the course of marriage and on marriage termination.
