El texto de la inscripción latina que puede leerse en el dintel superior del templete de Alcántara (Cáceres, España) fue redactado por el mismo arquitecto que edificó ambos monumentos: el puente y el templete. Su nombre era Cayo Julio Lácer. La inscripción hubo de ser renovada en la Edad Media y en la Edad Moderna, debido al deterioro y a la erosión causada por los agentes atmosféricos. The text of the Latin inscription, which can be seen on an upper lintel in the Roman temple in Alcántara, Cáceres, Spain, was by the same architect who built both the temple and the Roman bridge there, namely Cayo Julius Lacer. The inscription had to be renewed in both the Middle and the Modern ages.The latter ocurring in 1859 during the reign of Elizabeth II, of Spain, daughter of King Ferdinand VII.
